Project plan on how to manage the Oystercatcher site

The document on how to manage the site and what communications are needed is attached below.

Signs are essential to help people using the beach know what is happening and where to walk on occasions when volunteers can't be there.

Attaching signs directly to the rope lines causes the ropes to break so better to attach with cable ties to star pickets about two to three metres from the lines as you do not want people standing in front of lines to read the signs. The rope lines are the very outer edges of tolerance for the bird if you are just walking past. Once you stand along the lines the bird gets edgy and moves off nest.

The opinions expressed in this blog are my own.

So much thanks goes to Sutherland Shire Council, Birdlife Australia and  NSW Office of Environment and Heritage as they have supplied equipment and research required to help ensure our shorebirds, resident or migratory, can survive into the future.
